Analytics (Google Analytics)
View visitor statistics for your website directly in the CMS.
What does the dashboard show?
The analytics dashboard shows the most important metrics for your website:
• Pageviews – How often pages were viewed
• Sessions – How many visits occurred
• Users – How many unique visitors
• Average session duration – How long visitors stay on average
• Bounce rate – How many visitors leave after one page
Additionally you'll see:
• A daily trend chart
• Most popular pages
• Where your visitors come from (traffic sources)
• Which countries your visitors are from
• Which devices they use (desktop, mobile, tablet)
How do I set it up?
You need two things:
1. Measurement ID (G-XXXXXXXXXX) – You probably already entered this in Settings → SEO
2. GA4 Property ID – A numeric ID (e.g. 123456789)
Find the Property ID in Google Analytics:
• Go to analytics.google.com
• Click Admin (gear icon bottom left)
• Under 'Property' you'll see the Property ID
• Copy it and paste it in Settings → SEO → GA4 Property ID
Tips
- The Measurement ID always starts with G- or GT-.
- The Property ID is purely numeric (digits only).
Granting service account access
The CMS retrieves statistics via a service account. This account needs viewer access to your Google Analytics property.
Here's how:
1. Go to analytics.google.com
2. Click Admin (gear icon bottom left)
3. Under 'Property' → click 'Property Access Management'
4. Click the + icon → 'Add users'
5. Enter the service account email address
6. Choose the role 'Viewer'
7. Click 'Add'
It takes a few minutes before statistics become visible.
Tips
- You can find the service account email on the analytics page when the Property ID hasn't been configured yet.
- The 'Viewer' role is sufficient – the CMS only reads data, never writes.
Note
- Without viewer access for the service account, you'll get an error when loading statistics.
Choosing time periods
In the top right of the dashboard you can choose from three periods:
• 7 days – Short term, ideal for measuring the effect of recent changes
• 30 days – Standard overview, good for monthly reports
• 90 days – Longer trends and seasonal patterns
Data is cached for 5 minutes. Click 'Refresh' to fetch the latest data.
Who can view analytics?
All website users (editor, team member, admin, super admin) can view the statistics. No minimum role is required.
The analytics page is visible in the sidebar under 'Analytics'.
