Import Features
Everything about the import pipeline: standard import, HD Import and tips for the best results.
Import pipeline overview
The import pipeline converts an existing website into editable pages in the CMS. The process consists of several steps:
1. Crawling – The source site is visited and all sections, images, colours and fonts are extracted
2. Analysis – AI analyses the structure and assigns each element to a CMS block
3. Generation – The sections are converted into editable blocks with the correct settings
4. Validation – Each block is checked for correctness and missing fields are filled in
5. Storage – The pages are saved and immediately editable
The entire process takes 30-60 seconds for a standard import.
Standard Import vs HD Import
There are two import modes:
Standard Import:
• Available for Starter, Professional and Agency
• Duration: 30-60 seconds
• Uses AI analysis of the HTML structure and computed styles
• Result: 80-90% accuracy
HD Import (premium):
• Only available for Professional and Agency
• Duration: 90-150 seconds
• Does everything standard import does, plus:
→ Takes a screenshot of the result
→ Visually compares with the original site via AI (GPT-4o vision)
→ Automatically corrects differences (up to 3 iterations)
→ Stops when the difference is less than 10%
• Result: 90%+ accuracy
Tips
- Always start with a standard import. Enable HD Import if the result isn't good enough.
- HD Import works best on sites with a clear visual structure.
Note
- HD Import uses significantly more AI credits than a standard import.
Tips for the best results
Get the most out of the import:
• Use the full URL including https:// (e.g. https://www.example.com)
• Sites with a clear section structure (hero, features, pricing, etc.) give the best results
• WordPress sites with an open REST API are imported extra well (blog posts, media, SEO data)
• Modern single-page apps (React, Vue, Angular) are supported thanks to SPA crawling
• The system automatically detects dark mode settings and carries them over
• Fonts (Google Fonts) are automatically detected and configured
• Images are downloaded and saved in your media library
Tips
- Always check the blocks in the visual builder after import and adjust where needed.
- Use the responsive preview to check the import looks good on mobile.
Known limitations
The import pipeline is powerful, but some elements cannot be automatically transferred:
• Lottie animations and complex JavaScript widgets
• Interactive elements such as custom sliders, calculators or configurators
• Logged-in content (behind a login screen)
• Dynamic content loaded via APIs after the initial page load
• Very complex CSS layouts (e.g. multiple overlapping absolute-positioned elements)
• Embedded iframes (e.g. Google Maps, external widgets)
You can add these elements manually after import via the visual builder.
Note
- Only import websites you have permission to use. Respect copyrights.
