Meta Commerce (Facebook & Instagram Shop)

Automatically sync your products with Facebook Shop and Instagram Shopping.

What is Meta Commerce?

Meta Commerce connects your webshop with Facebook Shop and Instagram Shopping. Your products are automatically synced, making them visible to millions of potential customers on Facebook and Instagram. Customers who see your products on Facebook or Instagram are redirected to your own webshop to check out.
Tips
  • Meta Commerce works with your existing product catalog — no extra data entry needed.
  • Products with variants (size, color) are correctly transferred.

Connecting with Facebook

To link your webshop to Meta: 1. Go to E-commerce → Meta Commerce 2. Click 'Connect with Facebook' 3. Log in with your Facebook account 4. Select your Facebook page and business account 5. Choose or create a product catalog 6. Confirm the connection After connecting, your products are automatically synced.
Tips
  • You need a Facebook Business Manager account.
  • Make sure you have admin rights on the Facebook page you want to link.
Note
  • The Facebook page must comply with Meta Commerce policies.

Product Feeds

After connecting, two feed URLs are generated: • CSV Feed — for Facebook/Instagram Shop (fetched automatically) • XML Feed — for Google Shopping (Google Merchant Center) The feed URLs are visible on the Meta Commerce page and can be copied for manual configuration. The CSV feed contains all active products with title, description, price, stock, images, brand, condition, and more.
Tips
  • The XML feed is also suitable for other marketplaces that support Google Shopping format.
  • Feeds are automatically refreshed every 24 hours by Meta.

Automatic synchronization

Products are synced in three ways: 1. Real-time: every price or stock change triggers a delta sync to Meta (within 5 minutes) 2. Daily: every night at 03:00 UTC the full catalog is synced 3. Manual: via the 'Force full sync' button on the Meta Commerce page This ensures customers on Facebook and Instagram always see current prices and stock levels.
Tips
  • The real-time sync buffers changes and sends them to Meta in batch every 5 minutes.

Product fields for marketplaces

For best results on Facebook and Google Shopping, you can fill in extra fields for each product: • Brand — the product brand name • Condition — new, refurbished, or used • GTIN/EAN — the product barcode • MPN — the manufacturer's part number • Google Product Category — the category per Google's taxonomy • Gender and Age Group — for clothing and accessories Find these fields in the product form under 'Marketplaces (optional)'.
Tips
  • Filling in GTIN/EAN significantly improves product discoverability.
  • Google Product Category helps with correct tax calculation and better targeting.

Diagnostics and errors

On the Meta Commerce page you'll see a catalog error overview: • Critical errors — products not shown (e.g., missing image) • Warnings — products missing information (e.g., no brand) • Suggestions — low-priority improvements Diagnostics are automatically updated every hour.
Tips
  • Fix critical errors first — these products are invisible to customers.
  • Make sure all product images are at least 500x500 pixels.

Disconnecting

To disconnect Meta Commerce: 1. Go to E-commerce → Meta Commerce 2. Click 'Disconnect' 3. Confirm Your products will gradually disappear from the Facebook and Instagram catalog. Products in your webshop remain unchanged.
Note
  • After disconnecting, your products will no longer be shown on Facebook and Instagram.
