Carrier API (Shipping Labels)
Connect SendCloud or Shippo for automatic shipping labels, real-time rates and tracking.
What is the Carrier API?
The Carrier API connects an external shipping provider (SendCloud or Shippo) to your webshop. This allows you to:
• Show real-time shipping rates to customers at checkout
• Automatically generate shipping labels from the order overview
• Automatically update track & trace information on orders
Without a carrier connection, the fixed shipping rates from E-commerce → Shipping are used.
Connect SendCloud (recommended for NL/EU)
SendCloud is the recommended choice for Dutch and European shipping. It supports PostNL, DHL, DPD, UPS, GLS and more.
How to connect SendCloud:
1. Create a free account at sendcloud.com
2. Go to Settings → Integrations → Sendcloud API
3. Create a new integration and copy your Public Key and Secret Key
4. In the CMS: go to E-commerce → Carrier API
5. Choose "SendCloud" as provider
6. Paste your keys as public_key:secret_key
Tips
- Shipping costs are billed to your SendCloud account, not to the platform.
- You can connect your own carrier contracts to SendCloud for better rates.
Connect Shippo (international)
Shippo is an alternative with more international carriers (85+).
1. Create an account at goshippo.com
2. Go to Settings → API in the Shippo dashboard
3. Copy your Live API token
4. In the CMS: go to E-commerce → Carrier API
5. Choose "Shippo" as provider
6. Paste your API token
Generate a shipping label
Once the carrier API is configured you can generate shipping labels:
1. Go to E-commerce → Orders
2. Open a paid order
3. Click "Generate shipping label"
4. The label (PDF) is created with your carrier
5. Tracking number and tracking URL are automatically saved
6. The order status is updated to "Shipped"
Tips
- The customer automatically receives a tracking link in the confirmation email.
- You can download the label PDF from the order detail.
Set sender address
The sender address appears on your shipping labels. Set this via E-commerce → Carrier API:
• Name and company name
• Address details
• Phone number and email
• Sender country (ISO code, e.g. NL)
Note
- Without a sender address, some carriers cannot generate a label.
- The sender country determines which shipping methods are available.
